Phil is a Reno native and has been involved in the securities industry since 1979. He graduated from Loyola University-Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, and has attained his Master’s Degree in Finance (MSF) from The College for Financial Planning. As a Board-Certified Financial Planner™, he combines a strong educational background with over 45 years of investment experience and specialized training from the world’s premier financial institutions including Citicorp North America Investment Bank (NAIB) and Barclays Bank PLC.
Phil has been married to his Chicago bride, Susan for 44 years. He and his wife are the proud parents of Erin, now 36 and Kelly, 33. He is involved in many local activities, including The Rotary Club of Reno, 4-H Club, and Entrepreneurs Organization (EO).
Proud
Phil is proud of Legacy Wealth Planning, and the superior service provided by the advisors and staff for their clients. He had a vision of having an independent practice, focusing on doing the right things for his clients, helping them work on their personal and financial needs. That was realized in 2006 and has since grown to be a normal part of our culture at Legacy Wealth Planning.
Responsibilities
Phil’s primary responsibility is to his clients, helping them pursue their goals and life dreams. The largest part is getting to know the clients so that he can not only provide the appropriate investment advice, but also so that he can help in other areas, such as Retirement, Insurance, Estate and College planning. Phil’s Legacy Wealth Planning responsibilities include a robust menu of items, making sure the business is growing and running vibrantly.
Life Pride /Accomplishments
Phil feels he would not be where he is without the influence of Susan and the journey that has led them to this place in their lives. He is very proud of his daughters, Erin, and Kelly, who are now setting upon their own life journeys, and he enjoys watching their progress. His accomplishments also include cultivating a continual need for ongoing learning within his family: Erin and Kelly with their college degrees, Susan with her Master’s Degree and Coaching Certification. He feels continual learning makes him better equipped to come up with solutions for his clients, but also helps achieve a good life balance.
Why Work with a CFP?
Anyone can call himself or herself a “financial planner.” But only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of CFP Board can display the CFP® certification marks. Individuals certified by CFP Board have taken the extra step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the rigorous CFP® certification process that includes demanding education, examination, experience, and ethical requirements. These standards are called “the four E’s,” and they are four important reasons why the financial planning practitioner you select should display the CFP® certification marks.
When selecting a financial planner, you need to feel confident that the person you choose to help you plan for your future is competent and ethical.
The CFP® certification provides that sense of security by allowing only those who meet the following requirements the right to use the CFP® certification marks.
